Rene J. Petersen Recognized for More than Two Decades of Excellence at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center
Rene J. Petersen named "Professional of the Year in Military Information Technology"

NEW ORLEANS, LA, March 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Rene J. Petersen, Contracting Officer Representative at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic New Orleans Office, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military information technology.

Drawing on 25 years of military experience, Rene J. Petersen is recognized for commitment and dedication to all aspects of defense services. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1975 before retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He then joined the Army Reserves, where he stayed for the next 20 years. Now employed by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Mr. Petersen acts as a liaison between the government and contractors regarding computer and IT services. He is especially adept at reviewing government contracts and preparing invoices for services rendered.

A decorated veteran, Mr. Petersen was honored with the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the National Service Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He also received Vietnam Campaign and Service Ribbons, a Combat Infantryman Badge and a Presidential Unit Citations. Especially experienced when it comes to military training, Mr. Petersen wrote and article on the subject, which was published in Infantry Magazine - an accomplishment of which he is particularly proud. This year, Mr. Petersen was honored as Cambridge Publishing's "Professional of the Year in Military Information Technology," an honor that is reserved for select individuals demonstrating personal and professional integrity and excellence.

Mr. Petersen holds a bachelor of business administration from Loyola University. He is professionally affiliated with Mensa International and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Looking to the future, he intends to utilize his background in outsourcing to perform consulting and contracting in the field of information technology.
